Strategies in migrating to a new VLE: Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota shares a successful approach
Tuesday 18 October | 14.00 - 15.00 BST

As part of its strategic plan, Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota (SMUMN) needed to transition to a new VLE, due to its renewed commitment to steward resources and to elevating the student experience.

However, they were already using two VLEs and course content would need to be migrated and consolidated onto Canvas with as little disruption to faculty and students as possible. In addition, SMUMN would need to find a solution to archive its historical course content and student data.

In this webinar, you’ll learn about the successful approach SMUMN took to migrate course content, archive student data, and implement a new VLE campus-wide through an aggressive but achievable timeline.

Specifically, this webinar will dive into how SMUMN:

• Built a methodical strategy from VLE selection to implementation
• Created a structured engagement process with administration, faculty, and staff
• Managed simultaneous migration of two VLE platforms
• Leveraged an automated solution that migrated course content quickly and easily
• Executed the successful roll-out and adoption of Canvas campus-wide
• Implemented a more affordable solution to archive student data

The panel includes:
*Andrea Carroll-Glover, vice provost of online strategy and programs, SMUMN
*Tianna Johnson, assistant vice president for information technology, SMUMN
*Abraham (Abe) Hedtke, director of instructional technology, SMUMN
*Steve Mildner, chief operating officer, K16 Solutions
