Building the US workforce of the future and reducing the skills gap through digital transformation
Thursday 23 March | 14:00 - 15:00 (EDT)

Whilst the US is home to some of the best educational institutions in the world, employers are voicing increased concern about the widening graduate skills gap.

Universities need to ensure that the demands of the workforce, including so-called ‘soft skills’ are embedded into curricula to offer their graduates the greatest chance of success, in turn boosting institutional accomplishment.

This webinar, held in partnership between Times Higher Education and Alteryx will bring together a panel of experts from industry and academia to exchange knowledge and best practice. Topics for discussion will include:

• How to identify the most critical skills gaps for US graduates (according to both educators and employers)
• How to embed workplace skills into curricula across departments
• How to track and measure skills education to increase employability using a data-driven approach
• What new opportunities digital transformation creates to align students’ needs with employers
• How digital, skills-based education can encourage lifelong learning and professional development in the US

Panellists will include:
• Jason Belland, global vice-president, SparkED, Alteryx
• Sarah Eisenberg, transportation labor planning senior program manager, Amazon Transportation Services
• Sridhar Sundaram, dean, college of business and economics, California State University, Fullerton
