Boosting employability in South Africa through skills education
Wednesday 1 December | 14.00 - 15.00 (SAST)

South Africa is facing a period of record-high unemployment, with the Covid-19 pandemic adding more pressure to an already unstable job market.

Its universities have the opportunity to help tackle this by ensuring that their students are taught the skills needed to become employable graduates and collaborate with industry on both a national and international level.

However, this creates new strategic challenges for higher education leaders.

To address these issues and propose solutions, this webinar will bring together a panel of experts from academia and industry to share knowledge and discuss best practice about the following:

Join us to hear about:
• How skills education can help universities produce more employable graduates
• What tools universities can use to deliver effective skills education
• How universities can collaborate with industry partners to encourage entrepreneurship
• Diversifying teaching and learning to increase internationalisation and create new learning communities
• Creating frameworks for lifelong learning through upskilling, reskilling and alumni engagement
